Dashboard Tour
After completing onboarding and running your first scan, the Guardian Pro dashboard becomes your central command center for AWS governance. This page walks you through every major area of the interface so you can find what you need quickly.
Main Navigation
The left sidebar provides access to all major areas of Guardian Pro:
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | High-level overview of your security posture, cost trends, and compliance status |
| Action Centre | Prioritized list of findings and recommendations with remediation capabilities |
| Cost Analysis | Detailed spending breakdowns, anomaly detection, budgets, and optimization recommendations |
| Compliance | Framework-based compliance scoring, control status, and audit reporting |
| Architecture | Infrastructure topology map, risk radar, failure simulation, and health scoring |
| Resources | Full inventory of discovered AWS resources across all accounts and regions |
| Settings | Organization management, user permissions, scan preferences, and notification configuration |
The sidebar collapses on smaller screens. Click the menu icon in the top-left corner to expand it. On wide screens, the sidebar stays pinned for quick navigation.
Dashboard Overview
The main dashboard provides an at-a-glance summary of your AWS environment's health across all connected accounts.
Health Score
The health score is a single metric (0-100) that reflects the overall governance posture of your infrastructure. It factors in:
- Security findings -- Open misconfigurations and vulnerabilities weighted by severity
- Cost efficiency -- How well your spending aligns with recommended optimizations
- Compliance -- Coverage across your subscribed compliance frameworks
- Architecture -- Structural risks and redundancy gaps in your infrastructure topology
- Operational readiness -- Monitoring, logging, and backup coverage
The score updates after every scan, giving you a clear trend line of whether your environment is improving or degrading over time.
A score of 100 does not mean zero risk -- it means Guardian Pro has not identified any issues across its checks. As with any automated tool, manual review and security practices remain essential.
Active Findings Summary
The findings summary card shows the count of open findings grouped by severity:
- Critical -- Issues that require immediate attention (e.g., publicly exposed resources, missing encryption on sensitive data)
- High -- Significant risks that should be addressed promptly
- Medium -- Moderate issues worth planning to resolve
- Low -- Minor improvements and best-practice recommendations
Click any severity level to jump directly to the Action Centre, filtered to that severity.
Cost Summary
The cost summary card provides a snapshot of your AWS spending:
- Current month spend -- Total spend so far this month
- Projected month-end -- Estimated total based on current trends
- Month-over-month change -- Percentage change compared to the previous month
- Savings opportunities -- Total estimated savings from cost recommendations
Click the card to navigate to the full Cost Analysis page.
Compliance Score
If you have subscribed to one or more compliance frameworks, this card shows:
- Overall compliance percentage across all active frameworks
- Per-framework scores for quick comparison
- Controls passed vs. failed summary
Click to navigate to the Compliance Dashboard.
Recent Activity
The activity feed shows recent events across your environment:
- Scan completions and new findings
- Remediation actions taken (and their outcomes)
- Cost anomalies detected
- Architecture risk changes
- User actions (invitations, role changes)
Account Switcher
If you have connected multiple AWS accounts, the account switcher in the top navigation bar lets you change your active context.
How It Works
- All Accounts -- The default view aggregates data across all connected accounts, giving you an organization-wide perspective.
- Individual Account -- Select a specific account to see findings, costs, and resources scoped to that account only.
When you switch accounts, all pages update to reflect the selected account's data. Filters, sort orders, and other page state reset to defaults on account switch.
Account Information
Each account in the switcher displays:
- Account name (as discovered from AWS Organizations)
- 12-digit AWS account ID
- Connection status (Connected, Pending, or Error)
- Last scan timestamp
AI Assistant
The AI Assistant is a conversational interface available from every page in Guardian Pro. Access it by clicking the chat icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
What You Can Ask
The AI Assistant understands your infrastructure context and can help with:
- "What are my most critical security issues?" -- Summarizes top-priority findings
- "Why is my cost higher this month?" -- Analyzes spending trends and anomalies
- "Am I compliant with CIS benchmarks?" -- Reports on your compliance posture
- "What happens if my RDS instance fails?" -- Runs a failure simulation
- "How do I fix this S3 bucket policy?" -- Provides step-by-step remediation guidance
- "Generate infrastructure for a Node.js API" -- Launches the Infrastructure Wizard
Conversations
The AI Assistant maintains conversation history, so you can ask follow-up questions and reference earlier context. You can:
- Start new conversations at any time
- Switch between previous conversations
- Delete conversations you no longer need
The AI Assistant is context-aware. If you open it from the Action Centre while viewing a specific finding, the assistant already knows what you are looking at and can provide targeted guidance without you needing to describe the issue.
For more details, see the AI Assistant Overview.
Notifications
The notification bell in the top navigation bar shows alerts and updates that need your attention.
Notification Types
- Critical finding alerts -- Immediate notification when new critical or high-severity findings are detected
- Cost anomalies -- Alerts when unexpected spending spikes are detected
- Scan completions -- Confirmation that scheduled or manual scans have finished
- Remediation updates -- Status changes for in-progress remediation actions
- System notifications -- Platform updates and maintenance windows
Notification Preferences
You can configure notification preferences in Settings > Notifications:
- Enable or disable specific notification channels
- Set severity thresholds for alerts
- Configure webhook integrations (Slack, Microsoft Teams)
- Choose between instant alerts, daily digests, or weekly summaries
Page-by-Page Guide
