Cross-Module Insights
Guardian Pro's intelligence engine continuously analyses your environment across all modules -- security, cost, architecture, compliance, and governance -- to detect compound problems that are invisible when each domain is viewed in isolation. Each insight includes an AI-generated explanation and a prioritised action plan.
How It Works
The intelligence engine correlates data from every Guardian Pro module to identify patterns and relationships. When it detects a significant pattern, it generates an insight with:
- A plain-English summary of the problem.
- The root cause analysis.
- A business-impact narrative explaining why it matters.
- A prioritised action plan with specific steps.
Insights are prioritised by severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low) based on the combined impact across security, cost, and operational dimensions.
Where Insights Appear
Dashboard Banner
When active insights exist, a banner at the top of the main dashboard highlights the most significant insight with its business impact narrative and a link to view all insights.
Action Centre
The primary interface for insights is the Action Centre. Insights appear as a dedicated view alongside security, cost, compliance, governance, and topology views. Each insight card shows the title, summary, priority, and the number of affected resources.
Types of Insights
Guardian Pro detects several categories of cross-module patterns:
High-Impact Resource Risks
Identifies resources that are both critical to your infrastructure (many dependent resources or single points of failure) and have open security findings. These represent your highest-risk targets because a compromise would have a wide blast radius.
Security-Cost Overlaps
Surfaces resources that simultaneously have security findings and cost optimisation opportunities. Addressing both together -- for example, rightsizing an over-provisioned, misconfigured instance -- delivers security and cost improvements in a single action.
Team Risk Posture
Groups resources by team, owner, or department tags and aggregates their security findings, cost savings opportunities, and governance violations. This gives team leads a view of their team's overall risk profile and helps direct remediation effort where it is most needed.
Service-Wide Patterns
Detects when the same type of security issue appears across multiple resources of the same service. This often indicates a missing policy or a systematic configuration gap rather than individual oversights.
Compliance Clusters
Identifies groups of compliance controls failing together within the same framework section. Addressing the root cause often resolves multiple controls at once, making compliance improvement more efficient.
Governance Gaps
Flags accounts with low tag compliance, poor governance scores, or governance violations that could affect your organisation's overall governance posture.
Compound Resource Issues
Identifies individual resources with problems spanning multiple domains -- for example, a resource that is simultaneously a security risk, a cost waste, and an architecture concern. These resources benefit most from immediate attention.
AI-Generated Action Plans
Each insight includes a prioritised action plan generated by AI. Each step in the plan includes:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Action | What to do |
| Type | The kind of action: remediate, rightsize, policy change, review, tag, or architect |
| Impact | Expected outcome of taking this action |
| Risk | Risk level of the action itself (Low, Medium, High) |
| Monthly Savings | Estimated cost savings, when applicable |
Action plans are ordered by impact, with the highest-value actions listed first.
Managing Insights
Viewing
Click any insight to see the full detail, including the AI-generated root cause analysis, business narrative, and action plan.
Dismissing
If an insight is not actionable or is expected behaviour, dismiss it with a reason. Dismissed insights are excluded from the active view and the dashboard banner.
Refreshing
Click Refresh to manually re-run the intelligence engine for the selected account. This is useful after making significant changes to your environment.
Integration with AI Assistant
You can ask the AI Assistant about insights in natural language:
- "What are the most important insights across my environment?"
- "Are there any resources with both security and cost issues?"
- "What patterns do you see across my findings?"
Next Steps
- Understanding Findings -- Learn about the individual findings that contribute to insights.
- Remediation -- Act on the recommendations in your action plans.
- Dashboard -- See insights highlighted on your main dashboard.
